Skill sets will be identified and developed through consultation with industry practitioners and licensing and regulatory authorities where appropriate during the development, redevelopment or continuous improvement of nationally endorsed Training Packages. In other words they will be developed in the same way as any other component of a Training Package.
The National Quality Council determined in 2007 that skill sets identified in this way can be separately listed in Training Packages. Detailed information about how Training Package developers can do that and where skill sets should be placed within a Training Package is contained within the Training Package Development Handbook
In addition Registered Training Organisations will continue to develop skill sets to meet their local needs.
