Eligibility Criteria for NSW Government Funding
- AGE AND SCHOOL: Applicants must be 15 years or older and no longer in secondary school
- QUALIFICATION STATUS: Applicants must not hold the qualification they are enrolling for, nor a qualification in the same industry and level or higher
- CITIZENSHIP AND RESIDENCY STATUS: Applicants must be one of the following:
- Australian Citizen
- Australian Permanent Resident
- New Zealand Citizens who have been in Australia for at least six months
- Humanitarian Visa Holders or a partner visa holder whose sponsor is a humanitarian visa holder
- EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Applicants must be full-time or part-time workers employed in permanent roles. Casual workers do not qualify directly but may do so should they become permanent employees
- NEW ENTRANT STATUS: Prior to the commencement of the traineeship, applicants must have been employed by their traineeship employer for less than:
- 3 months if they worked an average of 30 hours or more a week
- 12 months if they worked less than an average of 30 hours a week
